In the ancient Algarve living, ‘açoteias’ – a terrace that replaces the roof of the houses – were a very important element, with various uses – as a place of leisure, but also as an area for storing water or drying fruits and other foods.
The ‘açoteia’ survived the passage of time, and is the landscape that we find here. From Hábito to the Ria Formosa.
